- Cleo Hutton
- At the age of 43, Cleo had two right-side ischemic strokes, followed by heart surgery to repair a congenital heart defect. After months of formal rehabilitation, she returned to college and graduated, at the young age of 50, with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. Cleo Hutton has authored two books: After a Stroke: 300 Tips for Making Life Easier (Demos Medical Publishing, NY, NY, 2005) and co-authored with Louis R. Caplan, MD, Striking Back at Stroke: A Doctor Patient Journal (Dana Press, Washington, DC, 2003) Cleo has dedicated 15 years to the prevention of Stroke and providing assistance to fellow Stroke Heroes and their families.

My Name is Steve Brown. My Stroke was in 2004. A Cerebellum bleed got me. I nearly died. I was comatized for 22 days and was sent to various institutions. now, "life" is Great each day. The article in the Washington Post referred to a person with Huntington disease which is quite different from stroke but the bond of love is certainly the same.
